four eyes.

After 7 months of wearing glasses, I have made a list of why being a new glasses wearer full time can really be annoying.

1. Hugging your husband and by habit nuzzling your face into the crook of his shoulder, totally forgetting you have glasses on, which thus causes glasses to get totally smushed.

2. On the topic of husbands, you totally can't make out in glasses. Not that we make out much (hint hint husband if you are reading this) but you know what I mean, those suckers get in the way, so not sexy.

3. Forgetting you are wearing glasses and going to rub your eyes. Almost broke them doing that one.

4. Trying to read a book in bed. I like to lean on my side and I switch sides depending on which page I am on.... is that weird or do you guys do that too? Anyways, you can't lay down on your side with glasses on, it smushes them up on one side which is very awkward, and not good for them.

5. Opening up the oven that is very hot, just to get your glasses covered in steam from the heat, blinding you for a moment. Well we are on that lets just add anything that involved steam, the bathroom, a hot cup of soup... you get the idea.

6. Forgetting you are wearing glasses when you get into the shower. Fail.

7. Having your eye itch and trying to get at it, all to hit your finger right on the glass.

8. Getting your hair stuck in the part where the glasses bend and ripping out your hair. I hate that!

9. Bending over while cleaning the toilet lovely visual I know and having them slip right off my head! Oh yeah, that happened!

Why can't I seem to remember I am wearing these darn things?! As fun as I thought wearing glasses full time would be, I mean come on, cute accessory 24/7... I am so over it.

hey you blind lady!

So you guys may remember this post where I talked about how I realized I couldn't see anything anymore and was looking to get some new glasses and was asking for your opinions? Then you might remember this post where I got the glasses and they were WAY too big for my face. I also love that I was shopping for new frames before I ever went to the eye doctor haha, but anyways... I finally sucked it up and went. I seriously thought my astigmatism had just got worse over the years. But I hadn't been to the eye doctor since I was in high school, and boy was I in for a surprise. Apparently I didn't know just how much I wasn't seeing!
My eyes had changed so much over the years I was actually nearsighted now! Oh and I still have an astigmatism but in only my left eye, which was causing my brain to see two different images which thus confuses the brain, making it choose an eye to use to see through. So basically I have only been using ONE EYE for who knows how long?!?! So guess who has to wear glasses everyday all day for the next two months to train my brain to use both of my eyes?! yup. I was going to just use my old coach frames but when I walked out of the office I spotted these puppies... which look so much like the ray bans I wanted but they are not nearly as ginormous, so I was a happy girl :)

Let me just say, I feel like I am seeing everything in High Definition! It makes me sad to see the difference I have been missing out on. Happy to have my eyes back :)

Oh and P.S. Happy Birthday to the sweetest little sister anyone could have ever asked for.
LOVE YOU SARAH!
I remember 18 years ago waking up to find out I was a big sister! Kira and me wanted it to be a girl SOOO BAD :) It was probably the happiest memory I have of being little, just being so excited I was going to have a little sister.

glasses blues.

So remember this post about how I am an old lady and can't see anymore? Well I went with the tortoise pair if you were wondering, and when I got them in the mail... they were even prettier in real life. I put them on my face... held my breath... and.... no. sad moment. I know the bigger framed, dare I say "nerdy" glasses are in right now... but these were NOT flattering. I knew I had a very small and petite face, but I didn't realize just how small. These things were pretty funny, and I had got their smallest pair. If you don't believe me you can check out the skype chat I had with my mama to get her opinion....
I have always had a beautiful pair of Coach glasses that I love. But wanted to try something new that had spunk. The second I took the Ray Bans off I tried on my Coach ones and fell in love all over again. They just suit my face so much better, and something I wouldn't be embarrassed to wear in front of a bunch of young students in the classroom haha. So it looks like I am keeping it simple and classic ladies and gents.... I guess I shouldn't be surprised, that really seems to sum up my style anyhow.

But on a happier shopping note...

I wanted to share with you a site that was sent to me called  Zestii At first I thought this sounded too good to be true, but guess what? It is just that good. I have already bought items through it and I am loving it. Are you ready for this? First and foremost, it is totally FREE to sign up. Then select stores, which they have a great collection of them by the way, you can actually earn a percentage back from what you spend. Does that make sense? Here is the breakdown... 1. SHOP Click through their partners for the store, brand or product you are looking for and earn $ based on how much you spend. Each store has a different percentage you can earn. 2. REDEEM Check back a few days after your order has shipped and redeem $ for cash, products and gift cards. I usually just use mine to pay me back through pay pal. Some of these stores I shop online at all the time, so why not get a few dollars off every time I do? It adds up!
I bought two pairs of shoes at LuLus and got $10 back! I like the sound of that. I always think if you have found something great, share it, so here you guys go :) Oh and when you sign up, you instantly get a $5 credit, so they are basically paying you to sign up, a win win :)

glasses.

So I believe it was about the 8th grade that I started getting these headaches. I noticed them after reading a lot or using the computer for an extended period of time. My mom took me to the optometrist but I didn't think that would really help because when I was reading, the words were never blurry. I walked away with my first pair of glasses that day. Apparently I have a very mild astigmatism. Basically my eyeballs are shaped like footballs and so my focus isn't exactly on point, so my eyes work double time to correct this. So after reading a lot it wears them out. Because of this I never really needed my glasses to see anything, but simply to avoid headaches after reading. I have never had to be dependent on my glasses to be able to see things, or read things.  Which was so convenient.
Well the past six months I have noticed that my teachers PowerPoints are really crappy. I had kind of brushed it off just thinking the school needed new equipment or something. Then one Saturday afternoon, Trevor and I headed to Costco. I was looking for a particular section--you know how Costco has those HUGE red words above different sections of their store? Well those words, were blurry. I rubbed my eyes a couple times thinking my eyes must just be tired. Trevor assured me that my eyes were probably just still waking up or something. I started to freak out a little by the end of our shopping trip when I noticed I couldn't really read anything in the distance. If the print was big enough then I could make out what is said, but nothing was crisp. I went back to school and realized it wasn't the schools equipment, or my teachers PowerPoints. It was me. I couldn't even make out certain things on the white board anymore.

At twenty two years old, I feel like an old blind lady. I am not sure what it is exactly, if my astigmatism just has gotten worse, or if I am nearsided now? Soon I will be making an appointment to get a new prescription, but this whole depending on glasses to see thing kind of really sucks. I can't even make out who people are if they are too far away... sad day. So to make myself feel better about being blind I am using this opportunity to get a new pair of frames :) I have a coach pair that I love, but I would like something a little more fun.
This is where you folks come in! I need some helping choosing between these two, black or the coming back tortoise style? I can't decide. I think the black might go with more which makes them more practical, but  I don't want it to be harsh on my face. I think the Tortoise ones wouldn't look as harsh on my skin, and seem really fun....but then probably wont match nearly as much as the black. I think I am leaning more towards the black for practicality, but what do you guys think?
Let me know what pair you would get and why! THANKS!
