So you guys may remember this post where I talked about how I realized I couldn't see anything anymore and was looking to get some new glasses and was asking for your opinions? Then you might remember this post where I got the glasses and they were WAY too big for my face. I also love that I was shopping for new frames before I ever went to the eye doctor haha, but anyways... I finally sucked it up and went. I seriously thought my astigmatism had just got worse over the years. But I hadn't been to the eye doctor since I was in high school, and boy was I in for a surprise. Apparently I didn't know just how much I wasn't seeing!
My eyes had changed so much over the years I was actually nearsighted now! Oh and I still have an astigmatism but in only my left eye, which was causing my brain to see two different images which thus confuses the brain, making it choose an eye to use to see through. So basically I have only been using ONE EYE for who knows how long?!?! So guess who has to wear glasses everyday all day for the next two months to train my brain to use both of my eyes?! yup. I was going to just use my old coach frames but when I walked out of the office I spotted these puppies... which look so much like the ray bans I wanted but they are not nearly as ginormous, so I was a happy girl :)
Let me just say, I feel like I am seeing everything in High Definition! It makes me sad to see the difference I have been missing out on. Happy to have my eyes back :)
Oh and P.S. Happy Birthday to the sweetest little sister anyone could have ever asked for.

ReplyDeleteThat's how I was too when I was a kid, my one eye was doing all the work. I wore glasses steady for years but now I just wear them when I feel I need to. I love em, so it's all good.

I've been in glasses and contacts since 3rd grade (ooohhh... 16 years ago) and just recently I caved and got new glasses with a brand new perscription... the differences are remarkable! contacts are freeing... but nothing beats a good pair of correct rx glasses :]

When I was 6 1/6 I spiked this uber-high fever that wouldn't go down for a couple days, and afterwards my vision was shot. I am so nearsighted that I've been told I'll never see correctly through glasses as they are not directly ON my eye. Without

ReplyDeleteooooo so cute!!! i also have mis-matched eyes, one is 20/20 and the other (lame eye ahah) is far sighted plus astigmatism. so i usually only wear one contact lens to correct the imbalance. i've needed new glasses for a few years; i always get so disappointed that they take so long to come in after you pick out your frames!

At first when I saw your post I thought you were a sister of someone I went to high school with (Crowley) but then I saw your picture and knew you couldn't be (they all have dark brown hair, Lol)
From the quick glance over your blog it looks like you have TONS of stuff going on, the biggest, that being a spouse in law school, YIKES!! You would have to pink slip me, if my husband were to do that. But you seem like a girl who has her head straight on her shoulders and can take whatever comes in life in strides.

I LOVE you in glasses. You are gorgeous. I remember my first pair of glasses when I felt that way...you just look around at everything and are amazed at how much detail there is. Trees amazed me the most. I couldnt believe that you could see like individual leaves instead of a green bulk at the top.
