St. George, Colorado, &Moab!

Well as some of you may know me and Trevor work at the same job. I literally started working there during my finals week, and I work Saturdays as well so really.... I have yet to really have some vacation time this summer. Well we decided to take a good week off and have some fun. We drove down to St.George and hung out with Trevor's family, did some red rock hiking, swimming and went boating. It was wayyyy fun! Lisle insisted we bring the two puppy boxers....which went crazy on the boat. It made for an interesting time. While I was out wake boarding apparently I missed the grand event of the boxer's peeing on the boat, haha. They even at one point jumped off, not realizing that they really don't know how to swim. Trevor had to jump in and save them. St.George was so much fun, but after a couple days we got in the car and headed out to Colorado to visit Trevor's grandparents. Now Trevor's grandparents were amazing.... they are 94 and 95 years old! CRAZY! They live on their own and everything and when we got there his grandma had prepared dinner. I was stunned. It has only been the past year that their age I guess has even really started to affect their mobility. Other then that they are the funniest couple ever. Trevor's grandpa's name is JW.... thats it, no dots it doesn't stand for anything, it is simply JW. We got to have some amazing conversations with them about their life and the things they have seen. It really was mind boggling to imagine that his grandmother remember when the first car came out, and the discovery of electricity! As you can imagine they have some killer cool stories. After a short but sweet visit with Trevor's grandparent's we met up with our friends Alex and Shawn in Moab. We had all rented out this tiny little Cabin to spend a couple days. It was so much fun, we spent a whole day hiking and cliff diving off the rocks in this secluded area that Alex showed us. We had lunch there and everything It was really cool. We made our food every night on our little BBQ, I just love camp food really I do :) Later that night we walked the main street of Moab and saw the cool little shops and things. The last day we spent on a hike and driving tour of all the big grand arches in Moab. They were pretty cool. Then we had to head home back to reality. Overall...we had a blast! What a great week vacation!

We tried to get a picture with St.George behind us, but it was SO windy up there it was pretty difficult!

I can't believe I let Trevor talk me into climbing up this narrow part of the cliff. I am claustrophobic so this was a feat!

I guess I know why this place is call "The Narrows!"

When we walked the main street and Trevor and Shawn saw this shop they of course had to stop. Thank goodness it was closed or who knows how long me and Alex would have had to wait for them....

Since it was SOOOOO Hot here I am trying to stand in the little shade there was around, from this lovely tree, haha.

Yeah, I don't think you can tell but that is Trevor VERY high up! I was actually very worried about it haha. I was acting like a mom..."Trevor, BE CAREFUL! COME DOWN!"

TWO Bridal Showers... Lucky Girl.

So Sister Riches, my piano teacher growing up, held my San Diego bridal shower for me. It was amazing! Her along with Jamie and her mother all put it together and it came out great. It was a little Garden party outside with desserts etc! It was great seeing a bunch of people I hadn't seen in awhile and I got a bunch of great stuff! I got to say, I have the best friends in the world.






For those of you who want to know the story behind this quilt you can ready my Dad's Blog (a link you can find on my list to the right) it was pretty cool.

So the second bridal shower was thrown for me by Trevor's family! It was so sweet of them to do it for me, and I called it my "Utah Shower!" It was a lot of Trevor's family, and a couple of friends from Utah and then I even had the special treat of seeing some women from my PQ3 ward growing up that had moved to Utah, it was sooo cool! Even my Aunt who I hadn't seen forever came and my mom and sister Sarah drove up, how lucky am I? It was great. WAY fun, and I still can't believe how lucky I am (:

San Diego &Alex's Graduation.

Well where do I even start? A lot in this blog entry today... I FINALLY got to go back to San Diego for the first time this whole summer. It has been so weird living in Utah this whole summer and not going back home. I wish it could have been longer, because it was so much fun to see all my family and friends! Katy, Allie and I continued our tradition and went to Americana for breakfast down by the beach in Del Mar and just sat around the beach. It was perfect, we just talked about how much has changed and how fast life goes by and how we all can't believe I am ENGAGED! AH! I couldn't stop looking at my ring so Allie finally said, "Just take a picture of it already!" haha SO I did (:


After the beach and breakfast with my friends I went to Alex's graduation, I STILL can't believe he has graduated! CRAZY! It was way fun getting to hang out with the family esp. Evan my nephew. After the graduation we all went to Souplantaion which was alot of fun. It was fun to watch Evan eat, if that what you want to call it. Most of it didn't get in his mouth, haha! Anyways it was a perfect day really. I love being HOME!

I am Engaged!

Well me and Trevor had decided to get married long before we were "officially" engaged as some of you may know. Because we did this backwards, waiting for the proposal was interesting. We both knew we were getting married, and there was a window of time where i was just waiting for him to ask me!! I was expecting the proposal... WHICH Trevor knew i was expecting and waiting for, so he decided to really surprise me.

I honestly didn't think he would be able to do it and have it be a surprise, i figured i would clue in. Everywhere we went, anything we did, i would almost wait for it to happen and it never did. Then one day after work he took me to the park, we were walking around looking at the ducks and lake etc just talking. He has his hand in his pocket the whole time so i was starting to get suspicious. Then he pulls out something from his pocket and says "Hey will you marry me?" I look and it's this big fake pirate treasure ring. I laughed but all at the same time was thinking it was real before i saw the ring. We laughed and went back to Trevor's to watch a movie.

After the movie we get up and ready for Trevor to take me home. He goes to get something in his room, so i go and sit on his bed and to be honest i don't remember right now what i was talking about but here i was chatting away, when Trevor turns towards me and in the middle of my sentence opens a box and says, "So do you want to marry me for real?" I was looking for the fake ring in the box, but i wasn't seeing it, this thing was REAL! I couldn't believe it. I have never been so shocked.

The past weeks here i was waiting for it, looking for it, and he managed to totally surprise me. Here i am in sweat pants and a t-shirt, my hair all crazy, no make-up on, wearing my glasses. It was perfect. Trevor went on to tell me how he knew if he did some big romantic event i would know instantly it was going to be happening and he wanted it to be a surprise. Well it sure was! Plus, it was perfectly our style. Sitting in my scrubs, being totally surprised. It was real and genuine, no grand gestures etc. it was a pure and simple proposal from someone i love and am so excited to be with. At one point, i made the comment about how we are going to spend the rest of our lives together. My favorite part of the proposal was when Trevor replied to that and said, "Yah, and we are going to have fun." I love it. I can not wait to have an amazing new life with Trevor, and it will be FUN, there is no doubt about that! (:
