I'M LOVING: OLD NAVY SALE

I am not going to lie, I haven't shopped at Old Navy in years! Remember their annual summer sandal sales? Me and my sisters would go crazy in middle school and high school buying up all their sandals. Xan Photography Utah Giveaway

 

Earlier this summer Xan reached out to me about taking some pictures with me. One look at her work and you will know why I said, "Um, YES!" She is so talented and has such a creative eye, how could I say no? She knew she wanted to do something in the water with flowers, and so we decided to meet at the Salt Lake and basically magic happened. The sunset was beyond beautiful that night, and she somehow managed to make me look like a water goddess. I mean, I don't normally view myself as "sexy" but that is how she made me feel that evening. So yeah, if you are ever interested in doing a boudoir shoot, she is your girl ;) Not only is she one of the nicest people you will ever meet, she makes you feel so at ease and so comfortable. These shots are stunning and I just feel so lucky she asked me to work with her.

Have you ever thought about how much color affects our moods? When you think about how certain colors are used to describe emotion, color and mood are inextricably linked. A form fitting black dress can make you feel incredibly chic, while a bright yellow a-line dress can leave you feeling fresh and carefree. When I pair bright blue and hot pink together, I get a surge of energy! A few weeks ago I shared a bunch of my favorite maxi dresses from ASOS. Maxi dresses have been my staple this summer and this is one of my favorites. I wore it to the Utah Style Icon event. It was a toss up between this dress or this other dress I was drooling over... but alas the price difference swayed me, haha.

Not to sound like a broken record, but I think a maxi dress is the perfect dress because it looks gorgeous on anyone and is so comfortable. I really can't get enough of them in my closet! This dress was the perfect accessory for these gorgeous Utah mountain hillside photos that the amazing Katie took. She really has a talent!

I love how bright and cheery this top is! The delicate design of the flowers totally remind me of an afternoon in a botanical garden, which I guess is why the top is called that! Speaking of gardens, I can't get over how beautiful Utah is. When I first moved here I was simply in awe of the changing seasons, something we don't get in southern California. I hope it never ceases to amaze me. Each season offers something beautiful. Right now Utah has gorgeous sunsets, flowers blooming everywhere, and lots of green. I have been loving it!

I love this dress! It is super comfortable and really breathable which is perfect for summer. I also love the fun print on it. I love traveling and since I was little I have collected globes. I love that this dress has a nod to traveling :) Add a light sweater and some dainty jewelry and you are ready to go! I love this a&t necklace from GroopDealz. How great was this three day weekend? I hope you all had an amazing Fourth of July! (those of you in the states anyways) I know you had a total photo overload on my last post, but I wanted to share the details of my outfit. I usually am wearing a ton of color, but it was a nice change to take it back to the basics and be really simple. This dress was just breezy, lightweight, and super comfortable. And this jacket... oh this jacket... it is one of my favorite pieces in my closet. It is sooooooo soft, you almost forget it is denim. It also looks amazing with anything. Gap doesn't have this exact one anymore, but I did find some similar styles from the same 1969 line, and they are on sale right now!

Also, a fun side note, our photo shoot was featured on Style Me Pretty! I love their blog, so it was really cool seeing us on there :)

Remember when I talked about the most perfect tee?

The second I spotted this tee in their new Spring Line I knew I had to have it. When it comes to being patriotic I always want to dress the part without being too cheesy. I loved the unique twist on the American flag on this tee and knew I wanted it for days like Memorial Day and the Fourth of July. The American Flag has taken on a life of it's own and is a commonly used graphic in fashion, so you don't just need a holiday to sport this great tee! I know I will be wearing mine all year round.

If you couldn't tell by now I am obsessed with this skirt. I love everything about it! The color, the gorgeous patterns of the black and white roses, the quilted texture. I can't get enough. So I am going to say something that may sound a little funny. I love how white I am in these pictures. When in Thailand I noticed a lot of whitening cremes, and lotions in the shops. One day we had a tour guide and I decided to ask him about it. He told me that many Asian women want to be lighter, and so there are a lot of products out there to help lighten their skin tones. I was a little shocked because all the women I know want to be darker and tanner! Didn't they know that what they already had was beautiful?
