32 Weeks Pregnancy Update - Lindsay Olsen Photography

Lindsay Olsen is a Newborn and Baby Photographer here in Utah, and while that is her main focus, she indulged me in some maternity pictures. Oh my goodness where do I even start? I love these! When you are this far along in your pregnancy it can be hard to feel like you look your best, but I think Lindsay captured the beauty of pregnancy in these photos and I will cherish them for years to come. The softness and natural element these photos have suit a maternity session perfectly, and Lindsay made me so comfortable. I can't wait to work with her again when our little girl arrives! And, as per usual, a gazillion photos after the jump...

How big is baby: Baby girl is as big as a squash, or a head of lettuce! Can you believe that? Around 19 inches long and almost 4 pounds.

I forgot to mention something exciting that happened back in week 30, Trevor got to see baby girl move! He has yet to feel her, BOO, but he saw her moving one time when we were trying to get him to feel her. It was pretty cool and it is so fun that you can see her jabs through my stomach every now and then if I am laying down. I love it! Speaking of movement, like I mentioned last week, her movements are so much more intense now. I could tell that something definitely had changed and after my appointment this week I learned that she has indeed turned head down. I had a feeling she had, so it is fun knowing exactly where she is and what I am feeling or seeing. For example, sometimes she goes completely to one side of my belly and I look super lopsided, it is hilarious. My doctor told me when I see the lump that appears, it is her bum! How cute is that? Okay maybe other people wouldn't think that is cute but to me it is utterly adorable.

It was getting a little surreal as the doctor started asking me a lot more about how I plan to give birth, and questions about nearing the end of this pregnancy. Before we know it, she will be here! 7 weeks and 4 days to be exact. I would love if she came a little earlier than that, but seeing that the women in my family tend to go late I am not getting my hopes up! haha I have been feeling pretty good, considering there is a pretty intense heat wave right now in Utah. It has been in the 100's the past few weeks and I am dying! Being pregnant in the middle of the summer is already one thing but add this heat and I am over it, haha. Besides that the only thing bothering me lately is the usual, swollen feet, painful swollen hands, and while I don't have heart burn that bad typically, I have noticed an increased need for tums in the middle of the night. I really think my list of pregnancy complaints is pretty small compared to what I hear other women talk about so I am considering myself lucky! We have so much to do this month to prepare for the baby so I don't want to rush time, but August just can't come soon enough!

One of my favorite things about the blogging community, and I should really just start saying social media community, because let's face it, it isn't just about blogging anymore, is meeting so many talented and creative people! I have been able to collaborate and work with so many awesome companies and people. One of those people is Roxana! She has been helping me with my Pink Blush Maternity Collaborations over the last few months, and so when she wanted to get some maternity shots of me, of course I obliged. We always have a blast together, and I love when she brings her sweet baby Clara with her. That gorgeous little girl with a head full of hair would make anything in life better. Anyways, remember how much I loved this dress from ASOS? Well even though I am already about to bust out of it *awkward face* I figured it was perfect for the location she wanted to shoot, the Salt Lake! And it was such a gorgeous night and the sunset was killer and Roxana rocked it of course. Infact, this is where Roxana and I originally met, she was helping her talented sister-in-law out when they did this dreamy shoot with me!

Anyways, I thought I would share these images along with my 29 Weeks Pregnancy Update. I also decided to just do a general update and forego some of the repetitive questions this week! :)

How far along: I am 29 weeks and 5 days!

How big is baby: Baby girl is as big as an Acorn Squash!

This week I had a doctors appointment. I look forward to these appointments because it means I get to hear that heart beat again. I just LOVE hearing her heart beat! That morning before going in she was moving more than I had ever felt her before! It was so fun! I had worn a pair of leggings that I guess have gotten a little tight, haha, and I was having a hard time trying to find a spot to put them that felt comfortable. Wearing them below the belly was making me sick, wearing them above the belly was apparently annoying baby girl. Every time I brought them up over my belly she started moving around and "freaking out" and when I would put them back down she would stop. I guess was in "her space" and is was hilarious! Anyways, at my appointment my doctor asked if I had changed anything with my diet or exercise because my weight gain trend looked much better. What a relief! haha I honestly hadn't changed a thing, and she mentioned again what she said earlier when I had gained so much in a short period of time that sometimes women put on more during different stages and it usually all balances out. This made me feel a lot better! She estimated I will put on around 40-44 pounds, which ironically is exactly what my mom put on with all six of her pregnancies. We have always been so similar so that made me smile. She told me that I passed my glucose test with flying colors *yay for that fiasco* and we proceeded to start talking about how I need to look into pediatricians and get registered for labor and delivery.... Oh man, at that moment it hit me how close I am getting. We are preparing for the last leg here! I even booked out my doctor's appointments for the rest of my pregnancy! I am going to be starting my hypnobirthing classes as well and can't wait to really start mentally and physically preparing myself for delivery!

I also am starting to notice some slight "Pregnancy Mask" on my face. My skin has definitely gone through some changes during this pregnancy! Hormones, got to love them. I haven't really had acne or anything, but the texture and pigmentation has changed. It is just different and unpredictable. When telling my mom about the pregnancy mask she mentioned she had some of that too, of course! Remember how I said my pregnancy has been very similar to hers?! haha Anyways, I guess I shouldn't be surprised, I have pretty sensitive skin, and I do have the linea nigra. In fact I need to make sure I get a picture of my stomach sometime for keepsakes as well. I used to think taking pictures of your bare pregnant belly was weird but now I totally get why women do it :) haha

Anyways, it has been a pretty exciting and busy week! I am feeling baby girl move lot more which makes me happy, obviously. I think Trevor will probably be able to feel her one of these times now, he just needs to catch it! He has had a few missed opportunities. She is getting bigger every day and I FEEL it so I know soon enough he will have plenty of opportunities. I am SO excited to meet her. She needs to just get here already!

A TOTAL PHOTO DUMP AFTER THE JUMP - Roxana B Photography

There were just so many pretty ones it was hard to narrow down which ones to blog! Roxana rocks :)

HE AND I - LORI ROMNEY PHOTOGRAPHY

Back in November Trevor and I had the pleasure of having Lori Romney take our pictures. It had been a year since we had some done, and I had seen Lori's work online and thought she was amazing! I love all the talented photographers that are here in Utah, and that I have been lucky enough to have worked with so many of them, and Lori is one of those!

Besides Lori's obvious talent to capture amazing shots, I think her best feature is her contagious personality. She is so FUN, and was able to make my husband (who hates getting his picture taken) feel comfortable in front of the camera. Now THAT is talent! She is so upbeat and her enthusiasm for photography is very apparent. She picked the location and I couldn't have been more happy with it. Utah is so breathtaking, and there are so many unique and stunning landscapes that Utah offers, I am constantly in awe of the beauty here. It never gets old, and it is not lost on me.

MY DRESS: FREE PEOPLE

Xan Photography Utah Giveaway

Earlier this summer Xan reached out to me about taking some pictures with me. One look at her work and you will know why I said, "Um, YES!" She is so talented and has such a creative eye, how could I say no? She knew she wanted to do something in the water with flowers, and so we decided to meet at the Salt Lake and basically magic happened. The sunset was beyond beautiful that night, and she somehow managed to make me look like a water goddess. I mean, I don't normally view myself as "sexy" but that is how she made me feel that evening. So yeah, if you are ever interested in doing a boudoir shoot, she is your girl ;) Not only is she one of the nicest people you will ever meet, she makes you feel so at ease and so comfortable. These shots are stunning and I just feel so lucky she asked me to work with her.

And lucky for you, Xan will be offering one lucky reader a photo session with her when she is here in Utah in the month of December! Enter below in the raffle-copter :)

PHOTOGRAPHY: Ivy and Stone Photography
MAKEUP: Vivian Makeup Artist
BAKERY: Dippidee Bakery

When I was asked to be apart of a Fourth of July inspired photo shoot, I couldn't pass it up. I mean, girl time, cake, red, white, and blue! Did I mention the cake? This whole thing was just too much fun! Every detail was so thought out, massive props to the multitalented Ivy and Stone Photography! Of course before all of this action went down Vivian from Vivian Makeup Artist made us all look glamorous. It was such a fun evening, and it ended with me stuffing my face with one of THE best cakes I have ever had. I am not exaggerating. I am a sucker for anything cream cheese, and this beautiful cake from Dippidee Bakery was not only gorgeous, but had THE BEST cream cheese frosting I have ever tasted. It was super thick and creamy, honestly pure perfection. I could have eaten just a tub of the frosting itself.

Can I just say how much I love the American Flag? While I was born in Canada, I have been in the States since I was three years old. I was raised here, it is home. Obviously I will always hold a special place in my heart for Canada, so much of my heritage is there, but I will never forget how special it felt when I became a citizen of the United States. I became a citizen when I was twelve years old, and I love that I remember the whole thing. The ceremony, the certificate. It was a right of passage for me and it made me feel such pride for this country, and my home. I have a strong family history in the United States as well as Canada, and especially in Utah, so I have always felt connected here. I love the flag so much because of what I think of when I look at it. I feel a love for this nation, the people in it, and what we are striving for. I don't want to get too cheesy, but seriously, do we realize how very, very blessed we are to live in this country? I think a lot of us get so sucked into our own little worlds, our instagram, facebook, all the distractions and we can forget that sometimes. I am so thankful there are people out there protecting my freedoms and that I live in this beautiful country. I hope you all have an amazing Fourth of July tomorrow! God Bless America XO

Our photo shoot was featured on Style Me Pretty! I love their blog, so it was really cool seeing us on there :)

A GAZILLION PHOTOS AFTER THE JUMP! #sorrynotsorry

winter lovin'

Almost a year ago Sami Jo did a giveaway on my blog. She was just starting her photography business, and let me tell you, she has grown quite a bit since then! I have absolutely loved watching her business and photography skills grow over the past year, and when Sami had offered me and Trevor a little shoot, I was beyond thrilled.

Of course with Trevor's schedule we couldn't find anytime over the summer, the fall, and before we knew it, it was winter already. We didn't find time until Trevor was done with his finals! I am happy it took so long to find some time to take these, because we ended up with these stunning winter photos!

Sami made us feel so comfortable, which can be hard to do with awkward husbands who hate taking pictures haha. She was quick and efficient, and you totally trusted her because she was so confident in how she was posing you. I was blown away by it actually! It can be really uncomfortable getting your picture taken sometimes, so when someone can put you at ease and tell you what to do so you don't have to really think about it, well that is when the magic happens, and Sami has the magic. The proof is in the pictures! I would HIGHLY recommend her people, HIGHLY!

Thanks to instagram, Sami and I  have become "internet" friends and so I was pretty excited to meet her in real life. She is honestly one of the sweetest girls I have ever met! I wish she didn't live all the way up in Logan, because I want to make the hanging out more of a weekly thing, darn it. Again, THANK YOU SAMI, I absolutely love these pictures and will cherish them :)

Check out Sami Jo Photography on her website and facebook page for updates and beautiful pictures.

decisions decisions decisions...

Okay so as part of our wedding gift (which they already had out done themselves!) my parents said they would pay for us to get one big blown up photo from our wedding. I am finally getting around to it, now that I have a big enough apartment for it. I know someday I will get both of these done, but for now I am trying to pick the one that I would want in our front room. I know which one I am leaning towards, but I wanted to get all of your opinions. Which one do you like best? Which one do you like best for a living room? Help me decide! haha

Choice #1

  Choice #2
So which ONE?!

zombies, zombies, zombies.

So those of you who know Trevor really well, will already know this. But Trevor is a MAJOR Zombie fan. Any Zombie movie, Television show, you name it, we watch it. I think it is such a weird thing to be into, but alas, he is. So when I stumbled across these engagement photos, I about DIED. Trevor hates getting his picture taken, but I have a feeling he would be down to do a shoot like this. How hilarious... I just had to share it. This cool session was photographed by the talented Amanda.

Was that not THE best thing ever?! haha :)

sneak peek.

Can't wait to share more of what this is with you guys :)

picture this.

When Lissa offered to take some pictures of me and the hubberz, I was thrilled! I had been following her adorable blog for awhile and was probably more excited to meet her then have our pictures taken :) Lucky me she dragged her husband and sweet little baby with her to the shoot and I was tickled to meet the little one in person.
It is funny, I have never met anyone that I know from the blog world in real life before, and it was pretty fun to put a real face to the blog version of someone :)
Love him :)
Lissa had a challenge with me and Trevor that I should have probably warned her about.... Trevor taking pictures can be an awkward event, haha. At one point even she couldn't help burst out a laugh with how uncomfortable the poor guy is in front of a camera! haha She was amazing with us! She really made us comfortable and on top of that, is pretty dang entertaining. The end result is just adorable. I love them :)
So check her stuff out, you wont be disappointed!
