...all that glitters

Not the best picture, but you get the idea :)

So the other day I was watching the Victoria's Secret Fashion show.
I am always in awe of the costume/fashions they create and enjoy the artists that play and just the whole show in general. Wouldn't it be amazing to go to one?
Theatrics and Fashion at its best.
Besides being envious of their bodies, something else caught my eye on the runway.
A pink studded, glitterfied (is that word?) Lacrosse stick!

For those of you who don't know, I started playing Lacrosse when I was 14.
I fell in love with it and have since played on club teams at the University of Utah and in San Diego.
I also coached a high school girls Lacrosse team.

Basically.... I want this stick!
The only problem is one actual check to that stick during a game would make all those
studs fly right off. So I am sure the refs wouldn't allow you to use it in an actual game play.
But still... just to have and look at it would be worth it :)
LURVE.

Oilers...

Where are all my hockey fans?
As some of you may have picked up from reading this blog I played Lacrosse from middle school and through out high school. I have played on college club teams, as well as the woman's league in San Diego.
I even had the amazing opportunity to coach at Brighton High School (I wish I had more time for coaching....someday I will again!)
With that said, did you all know that Canada's original national sport was NOT hockey? It was Lacrosse!
Now Lacrosse is the national summer sport, and Hockey is the national winter sport.
In fact Hockey and Lacrosse have a lot of similarities.
Anyways the whole point of this conversation is to say.... Although I tend to get caught up in college football around this time of year (GO UTES!) I can't forget about my homeland's favorite sport!
HOCKEY SEASON ANYONE?
Hockey is such an exciting sport to watch, and if you are from Canada you have to have a team you support. You can't avoid it, you are just born into it. My family are Oiler fans :)
Imagine my mother's dismay when my sister married a Calgary Flames fan (The Horror!) haha
So in honor of the NHL Hockey season starting this month, I have been sporting my big comfy Oilers shirt around the apartment while I study and do homework.
I LOVE IT.
Cool side-note... my cousin Zach Hodder is an amazing hockey player. I wish I lived up north so I could get to see him play! He currently plays for the Vancouver Giants who are a Major Junior ice hockey team!

Well it is Over...

This past Thursday was our last lacrosse game, the season is officially over! For those of you who didn't know i have been coaching at Brighton Highschool. I was an assistant Varisty Coach, and the Junior Varsity Coach. It was such an amazing experience! I Loved IT! I wish it didn't have to end, and it went by way too fast. Our Varsity Girls are ranked Number One in Utah and are going off to play offs. They do Lacrosse differently here then they do it back in California so the JV don't go to play offs and their rankings don't really matter. All my girls were beginners and they have improved SO much! To tell you how much they have improved lets just put it this way, their last practice they scrimmaged the Varsity and really kicked butt! They gave them a run for their money. It was such a cool Job to have that I look forward to having again someday!! :) GO LAX! We took these pictures after our last game. I WILL MISS THEM!
