A NEW CHAPTER - AND JOY

BRIT NICOLE PHOTOS from this session.

From the time that Trevor finished Law School, to now, so much has changed in my life. I have never had a year full of so much change, and being totally honest, it was a pretty difficult year for me. Last fall I wrote a blog post about being in a funk and after that, life took even more crazy turns. With the highs and lows of getting pregnant, buying a house, settling into a new job, and a whole bunch of other randoms in-between... I really had to learn to let things go and just let things happen. I also learned to stop complaining and make the changes I wanted to see happen!

I think getting pregnant helped give me that extra boost I had been needing. There is nothing like knowing you are bringing a life into this world to encourage you to get your shiz* together! If I had known the pressure of having a kid would help me get my butt going on tons of unfinished projects, and personal goals, I would have had a baby years ago ;) All jokes aside, I have been really focusing on making sure my life is lining up accordingly to bring this little girl into the best situation possible. I am not striving for perfection here, but just making sure I am taking care of me and the things going on in my life.

While I have experienced so much change in the last year, I know this year will bring the biggest changes yet. I am entering a whole new chapter and phase in life and I don't think I have ever been more excited for something. I feel like I am already changing for the better by her influence, and she isn't even here yet! My perspectives have shifted and I haven't felt this happy and content with life in awhile. My Dad has always said that nothing will bring you greater joy in this life than your children... and I think I am enjoying just the beginning of that sentiment.

  1. I am so excited for you! Motherhood is a whole new level of productivity and at the end of the day I have never felt more accomplished even if my house is a wreck or the laundry isn't done. I am nurturing a babe and that is everything. You are going to do wonderful :)

  4. I agree with your dad. I don't think I knew true happiness until we had our kids. They complete our lives in ways we didn't even know were lacking fulfillment.
