Sunday was Valentine's Day, and it was pretty crazy thinking about how just a year ago we had shared our little secret with the world. It left us feeling pretty sentimental. Trevor and I have spent 8 Valentine's Days together, 8! I decided to take a trip down memory lane and read my blog post from that night. Yes, I have been blogging for a LONG time! haha We have come a long way from those two kids, and Sunday night we fed our baby solids for the first time! So much has changed, but for the better. We LOVE being parents! I put together a little vlog from the day, which may be boring to you, but of course was adorable to us, haha. ❤️
'Cause life should be celebrated!

Galentine's Day Brunch - Emoji Theme
I am excited to finally share some pictures from the adorable Galentine's Day Brunch my friend Michelle hosted. It was emoji themed, and every detail was thought out and brilliant. We enjoyed great food, crafts, and great company (Oakley, Michelle, Dani, Whitney, and Cecilia.)
We all wore a red dress from shabby apple and accessories from shop & apparel, and made a video with dotd films about loving yourself and those around you, which I will be sharing later. The yummy food was from mt. vista catering and provo bakery. All of the fun party decorations/paper goods were from zurchers. The beautiful floral centerpieces were done by foxglove floral and gifts. And the beautiful photography was taken by my girl, Roxana, from Roxana B Photography
And
again, Michelle put this all together! She was such a generous host.
She even let me pump in her bedroom, ha! That is is a true friend
people. She really has a talent, and it was so nice to get out of the
house and do something. Every girl there has a heart of gold and I loved
getting to know them better as we discussed being mothers, women,
blogging, and why it is so important for us to love ourselves. Such a
great morning! Check out all the details after the jump!
Valentine's Day Weekend
Besides getting to share our exciting news, Trevor and I got to spend our 7th Valentines Day together last weekend! It is crazy to think that this was our last Valentines Day just the two of us. Since I have been blogging for so long, it is fun to look back at posts and see what I was doing or thinking the same time in previous years. I actually have every single one of mine and Trevor's Valentines Days (somewhat) documented on the blog, how fun is that? (2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014) Even instagram is fun to go back and see!
We had a pretty fun weekend! Friday we got together with friends and made Sushi! Oh how I love Sushi, and I have hated having to cut back on my favorites like anything with raw tuna and lemon. But I still made some yummy rolls, made quite the mess, and had a blast. I left waddling out of there I ate so much!
Saturday Morning, actual Valentines day was pretty low key. We got take out for breakfast from one of my favorite breakfast spots. I think breakfast foods are some of my absolute favorites, it is often like having dessert in the morning :) I had some amazing french toast, while Trevor opted for the more savory with eggs, hash-browns, and some pancakes. For the rest of the day Trevor had to work on fixing his Bronco which had died the previous day, and I was feeling pretty crappy (one of those pregnancy days) so we spent most of the day apart. I did glamorous things like dishes and laying on the couch complaining to myself. My phone has been acting up and it finally died on me, so we headed out to Best Buy and got me a new phone! That was something we weren't planning on so it was a nice little surprise. New phones are the best aren't they? For dinner I was just not feeling up to going out, the trip to Best Buy alone about did me in, haha, so we ordered some pizza (my favorite) and grabbed some of our favorite gourmet brownies for dessert, and watched movies for the rest of the night. Complete bliss if you ask me.

All weekend Trevor kept apologizing that our Valentine's Day was kind of boring, which honestly, I loved it and had no complaints (other than being sick). Then he surprised me with a trip to New York! Happy Valentine's Day to us! We have been wanting to go somewhere and had been talking about New York, and he just made it happen right there on the spot. I am pretty stoked so now I just need all kinds of suggestions from anyone reading as to what to do, where to stay, etc. Hit me! :)
LOVE.
Happy Valentine's Day.
“Love is the very essence of life. It is the pot of gold at
the end of the rainbow. Yet it is not found only at the end of the rainbow.
Love is at the beginning also, and from it springs the beauty that arched
across the sky on a stormy day. Love is the security for which children weep,
the yearning of youth, the adhesive that binds marriage, and the lubricant that
prevents devastating friction in the home; it is the peace of old age, the sunlight
of hope shining through death. How rich are those who enjoy it in their
associations with family, friends, and neighbors! Love, like faith, is a gift
of God. It is also the most enduring and most powerful virtue.”

happy valentine's day ♥
The funny thing about Valentine's Day, is in your marriage, every day should be Valentine's Day. I don't even have to think about it, I just do it. Every day I tell Trevor how much he means to me, that I love him. I give him kisses and hugs and send him random sweet texts.
But I guess every now and then it is fun to step it up a notch and make the day extra special. So today I will be trying to amp up my game to show Trevor just how much he means to me, and that I am so happy I have him to be my Valentine from here on out :)
Enjoy this beautiful day of love! ♥

Valentine's Day.
Trevor and I tend to have low key Valentine's Days, which suits our personalities very well. So far every year we have given each other homemade gifts (which is usually a form of food haha), and our favorite treats, and this year was no different. We had candy for breakfast, dessert before dinner, and enjoyed watching Zombie related television. It doesn't get more romantic then that... or more us :)
Right now Trevor has been so stressed out and busy with Law School, and I have been working a lot, so going out just isn't really appealing to us. We just want to stay home, and be comfortable, together. Actually spending some time alone. It was a great night, just want we needed, and wanted.
Am I bugging the crap out of you with my Instagram photos yet? haha I will try and lay off of them for a bit :) What can I say?!
This Valentine’s Day I couldn’t help think back to when I was a kid. My parents had a way of making every holiday so magical. I hope to be able to do that for my kids. Valentine's day holds some of my fondest memories of my childhood. I remember always being very excited for my Dad to come home. He would bring home my mother a big bouquet of flowers, then individually come up to my two sisters and me and give us a single flower with a note that said, "Will you be my Valentine?" I Love you, Dad. Although I expected it every year, it didn't take away from the excitement. It is probably one of my favorite memories of growing up, and of my Dad.

Although I have had many Valentine’s over the years, my first Valentine was my Daddy… and I am pretty sure no man could ever compete with that.
I hope you all had a great day with loved ones yesterday! What are some of your favorite Valentine's Day traditions? Past or Present?
I have pretty much decided that if Trevor and I ever have little girls, he will just have to bring them home a flower :)
Oh, and that S'more pizza. BEST THING EVER.
day of love.
Well as you all know Valentines Day was yesterday! Trevor and I tend to keep our Valentines Day low key, but still a little more special then your average day. As some of you may remember, I hate chocolate chips... and most chocolate in general, so I never make chocolate chip cookies, which just happens to be one of Trevor's favorite cookies. So to show him how much I love him, haha, I made him a giant heart shaped chocolate chip cookie (with sprinkles added for that extra touch!) I even almost put a big I love you in frosting but knew he wouldn't like the frosting so opted out, even though I knew it would make it look that much more cool. When I was picking up the cookie supplies at the store I cam across the pretty decent sized Reese's chocolate heart. Trevor LOVES Reese's, so I couldn't resist! I made that Be Mine sign for him and had this all on display as a surprise for him when he got home from work. He was indeed surprised!
Trevor also surprised me. He brought me a bouquet of flowers! While I loved them, I was kind of thinking he must have spent way too much money on flowers. Flowers that are just going to die. I kept telling him that I loved them, they were beautiful and smelled great, but that from now on he could bring me home flowers on any other day then the most expensive day to buy them, haha. Trevor told me he realized he had never brought me flowers before (excluding the chocolate roses he brought me when we were dating) and had heard me say something about it once, so he had decided to get me some. How can I complain about that? I mean my husband remembered me saying something? haha! Anyways I put them in water and enjoyed them all night, along with the big thing of yummy cupcakes he brought me. We rented a movie and did the all time favorite dinner and a movie. It was a great night. Trevor kept calling me his Valentine, and saying Happy Valentines Day to me, and I loved it :) Hope you all had a great day as well!
happy valentines day.

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY EVERYONE!
Kiss someone today :)
First Valentine's Day as Hubby and Wife...
Valentine's Day morning I woke up pretty early for church, I started getting ready and I hear Trevor grunting (he is NOT a morning person). He pops his head out from under the covers and says, "Happy Valentine's Day!" I smiled and said, "You too!" &continued to get ready. Trevor just sat in bed and starred at me. He kept just looking at me with this puzzled look on his face, and says "What are you doing?" I said, "Getting ready for church, something you should be doing." He put on his pout face and said, "But it is Valentine's Dayyyyyy, we need to sleep in!" "Ha nice, try my love." At least at church they handed out
(I wore a purple dress, in honor of the V-Day) After church when we got home and I made Trevor a romantic brunch as I would like to call it. I whipped up some crepes and melted down some Nutella, cut up some strawberries and pulled out some powder sugar and "voila" a Paris themed brunch. It was really exciting because I pulled out our nice China and we used it for the first time :) Food just tastes better when eaten of china, don't yah think? It was very yummy, and Trevor loved it so much he cleaned up the whole meal and kitchen as a thank you. GOT to LOVE that.

-->(yummy, you know you wish you could have had some.) Later in the evening Trevor took me to a free Symphony Show Case at the University of Utah. It was a bunch of different performers, all violins, piano, cellos, violas. There was even a singer who did an amazing job. It was a real treat, &the hall was simply beautiful, I mean LOOK at that Organ? Amazing. It was a simple and sweet romantic day :) I wish everyday could be Valentine's Day.... either that or Christmas... or my BIRTHDAY, haha!
P.S. Embarrassing side note of the day, when I got home from church and took off my jacket I realized.... I had forgotten to wear a BRA to church! WHAT?! I really was tired this morning... good thing it was cold at church so I wore my pea coat the whole time, or it could have been really, REALLY, embarrassing.
