GOOD LUCK! Winner announced 4/15

bijou girl's night...

When I moved to Utah I always heard about a handmade market called Bijou. I went for the first time back in 2009, and have gone every year since. I always walk away with something!

Since moving to Provo I have become best friends with Kelsey and Diana who both participate in the Bijou market. I have such talented friends :) &they always have great booths!

Diana had motherly duties, so just Kelsey and I made a girl's night out of it and went to check out all the goods as well as see what needed restocked in her booth.

Bijou didn't disappoint and was full of some really great stuff! After we headed over to Station 22 for some dinner. It was so busy and we had to wait forever to be seated, but it was fine because Kelsey and I are never short of great conversation :) We also had fun playing with Kelsey's fish eye lens all night if you couldn't tell haha

Then for some reason, even though it was pouring rain and freezing we decided it would be a good idea to get ice cream - which actually did turn out to be a good idea.

We didn't want Diana to feel left out, so we went over to visit her after she had put her kiddos to bed :) Ice cream, laughing, talking, what a great way to end the night!

InstaLOVE♥

Oh how time flies by, don't I say this every InstaLove post? haha Trevor had his first week of finals last week, and that sure took a toll on our sleeping schedule (since we don't sleep when he is taking finals) haha. Finals aren't over, so this means another week of no sleep next week, fun!

My Mom sent Trevor the most adorable "Junk Food Bucket" it should do a good job of giving him snacks during his finals. Sometimes my mom blows me away! :)
Loving that after 4 years of growing my hair out I can finally sport some decent looking braids! haha With that said my bangs are in that awkward stage of growing out, so I have been wearing lots of head bands and pulling them back.

Oh and speaking of hair, Trevor's sister Courtney came over and gave me a haircut, I needed one badly esp with my awkward bangs haha and Trevor also got some manscaping done :)

I also hit the Bijou Market this weekend, did any of you guys go? Did you get any good stuff? I did!

Find me.

Macarons at the Bijou Market!

Normally I do my Pinterest "Pining" posts on Friday, but I decided to feature something just as sweet today, literally. Mercedes (a fellow Canadian herself, love that) has a great blog called
Merceds White French Macarons.
Mercedes has mastered the one thing most people are scared to ever make on their own, Macarons! She says it better then I do, "I began making Macarons as a sort of culinary challenge while waiting for my US immigration papers to be processed. I decided that while I wasn't working I wanted to learn how to do something "hard."  I love Macarons and had always heard that they are a pretty tricky cookie to make--so decided to go for it. It took over a year for me to figure out what I was doing (they really are THAT hard to make). Making Macarons, however, turned out to be so rewarding that when my green card finally arrived, I decided to bag Islamic Studies and open my own business.  The rest is history!"

Remember this post and giveaway where I mentioned Bijou Market? Well Mercedes will be there selling her Macaron mixes and even classes! You heard that right, classes. How cool is that? To see what fun the cooking classes can be, check out this video of a class she taught with a bunch of local bloggers here in Utah!

So who will be there November 18-19, in Provo, Utah at the Historic Southworth Hall
116 West Center Street Provo, UT 84606?
I will be there Saturday morning into the afternoon, so I hope I see you guys there, and I hope you check out Merceds sure to be, enjoyable spread!

UPDATE:
Merceds is being SUPER generous and will be holding a Macaron Cooking Class with me and I get to bring along a reader! So this will be a giveaway to come learn how to make these cookies with the help of a Pro, along with me :) Who is in? If you live in the area, or will be able to get here, ENTER NOW!

Bijou Market :)

I will never forget when I first moved to Utah and heard about the Bijou Market. Of course I headed down from Salt Lake all the way to Provo just so I could go! They always have such great stuff, and my favorite part about it, is buying stuff that you don't have to pay shipping for! Hurrah!

This year they are taking it up a notch, and they will be having a Bijou Market not only in Provo, but also in Salt Lake City! Read all about the details here. I hope to see you all there! We should probably just make this into a blogger meet up event, who is down?

Emily, one of the amazing women behind this event (who's blog I have been reading since Day 1 of my blogging) is offering you guys such a sweet giveaway today. To spread the love, we will have multiple winners for this giveaway!

Bijou Market

So I am a California girl, through and through. But I am really starting to like some of the great stuff Utah has to offer. With free outside movie's under the stars at the Capital, the Twilight Concert Series, and many more park festivals that go on during the summer, how can I complain? This past weekend I went to the Bijou Market with my friend Lauren. I was really excited because I have never been and have heard so much about it. It was so cool! There was so much cute stuff, and it was such a fun afternoon! Very inspiring and creative. I loved the location, it was in the Orchard in front of this beautiful house! I highly recommend anyone who lives in Utah to try to make it next year, as well as the Beehive Bazaar and all the other fun things I am realizing Utah has to offer....

Great weekend :)
