My coworker and I were discussing how our husbands don't appreciate all the fun things about fall like we do. So we came to the conclusion we should just go to the pumpkin patch together! I haven't been to a pumpkin patch in forever, so I really soaked it all up and enjoyed walking around all the pumpkins and flowers. I love pumpkins. My grandpa has always called me pumpkin, and maybe that is where the love started. I just love how festive they are :)
After we decided we weren't all that interested in actually carving them, we decided to turn them into vases and fill them with flowers. They turned out adorable! I wish I had gotten a picture of Lisa's because she made two and had them on her doorstep. Such a cute idea! It made me wish I had a proper doorstep, but alas, I am on the top floor of an apartment building. Oh grad school life.
I woke up this morning and huge gusts of wind had ripped a good chunk of the colorful leaves that was left. Winter is knocking on the door, and I am just not ready to say goodbye to fall! I will just have to enjoy my pumpkin flowers as long as possible.
On another note, I go to give a shout out to Alli. She blogs about her life and adventures with her little family. They are adorable. Don't take my word for it, check out her cute family photos she just posted on her blog! I love meeting new bloggers and getting a peek into their lives and interests, check out this great DIY yarn garland tutorial she shared. Alli's blog is definitely worth the read :) Check her out...
Looks like so much fun! I'm totally living vicariously through your festive decor. I'm afraid I've missed the harvest decor boat this year due to moving and job changes. Hoping to catch up on things by the time christmas roles around :) In the meantime, loving these cheery Autumn pics!!

ReplyDeleteA pumpkin vase?! I love it! What a good idea! I am also a fellow "do-not-have-my-own-front-steps-yet" person! This is perfect for apartment living =)
ReplyDeleteI love the Pumpkin Vase idea I might steal it for my Thanksgiving center piece :)! My boyfriend doesn't love all the "cheesy" holiday stuff I do, but he's learning it's a part of who I am and he's got to embrace it, I finally convinced him to carve a pumpkin with me this weekend!
ReplyDeleteBEAUTIFUL photos - especially that last one with the red. Looks like a fun day!
ReplyDeleteSo fun! I'm totally doing that with my pumpkins next year. My husband is OBSESSED with pumpkins. We always decide how many we're going to get before we arrive at our traditional patch, but Adam can never decide and end up getting way way more. This year we had 10. TEN. I don't even like carving them, but the flowers idea is so cute!!
ReplyDeletelove the idea of filling the pumpkins with flowers! maybe I'll put that on my to-do list next year!
ReplyDeleteThankfully my hubby LOVES to pick out pumpkins...which is why our front porch is full of them!
As always, gorgeous pictures with such vibrant colors. I love pumpkins, too. They make me so happy! Turning them into vases is a cute idea! I know what you mean about not having a doorstep to decorate. One day...
