A few weekends back I drove up to Salt Lake City to browse around the Vintage Whites Market. I had just barley heard about it the day before and figured it was right up my ally for a good way to spend a Saturday afternoon. But who wants to browse a vintage market all by themselves? If I lived closer to my mother I know she would have loved to come with me, this place was her Mecca.
However, I thought of someone just as equally fun to come with me! I met Hailey at Alt Summit back in January and we had a total blast running around and taking pictures in all the photo booths. You know when you meet someone and you just "click"? Well that was what happened with miss Hailey and I :) She was down to meet me at the market, and we spent the afternoon "oooo-ing" and "awww-ing" at all the great stuff! We have the similar taste and totally went for the same mason jar lamp, yes we both bought it! I scored an amazing vintage fur shoulder wrap, and Hailey stumbled across a 1960's Polaroid camera with its actual leather case! To top it off we got some magnetic scrabble pieces for our fridge, "crowley" for me and an "HB" for her and her husband.
There was so much great stuff there, I could have gone wild, but everything I really loved was always "on hold" for someone else, darn it! Either way we walked away with some great stuff and if the market comes back next year I will be there for sure.
Hailey had to go film a wedding in Salt Lake, so before she left we had some pretty scrumptious waffle concoctions from a waffle truck outside the venue. I had the "apple pie" one while Hailey got a "grilled cheese" version. We chatted, hugged, kissed cried (okay, maybe not that dramatic) and said chow! Not a horrible way to spend my afternoon. Of course when I came home Trevor didn't "get" my mason jar lamp. I knew he wouldn't, but that didn't matter, I love it :) Thanks for the great afternoon Hailey, let's make it happen again!
