This is my hair after I blow dry it :) haha Beautiful I know!
My hair is naturally wavy, and super super thin. Because the wave in my hair is in between curly and straight, I usually always have to touch it up with an iron to go either way. Although I have always hated having such thin hair, I think it is the reason why I am able to either curl or straighten my hair really well. So I guess you could say I get the best of both worlds!
(at least this thin hair can offer me something of value, haha) But with that said, thin hair tends to fall out... when you brush it, style it, pretty much when you move it at all haha. So I am always looking for products that can minimize this for me. Because I get tired of people picking hair off of me, and I bet poor Trevor is tired of finding long strands of blonde hair all over the apartment.
My old straightener was on the fritz so when the very nice people from
Misikko sent me over a top of the line
flatiron I was beyond giddy! They sent me over the
Hana and I didn't hesitate to whip it out and give it a try :) The Hana is a 100% pure ceramic iron, which is the best type of iron you can be using on your hair, plus ceramic iron also don't rip out as much of my thin hair, BONUS. Misikko has all different kinds of brands when it comes to hair care. One brand they also carry that I love is the
Chi Iron which my sister-in-law swears by
(she is a hairdresser)!
The Hana is actually one of the first affordable 100% ceramic irons out there &it was featured in Marie Claire and Redbook magazine, so that is saying something!
Voila, straight hair! &I didn't even loose any hair while straightening it :)
Sorry for the gross yellow lighting from the bathroom!
Oooh, pretty straight hair :)
ReplyDeleteOh girlfriend...I FEEL your pain. Except I call it fine hair ;) My hair won't even grow past my shoulders because it starts to look horrific! Check out It's The Small Things blog...I just found it and she has great volumizing tips and product ideas!
ReplyDeleteUgh, you're gorgeous. I have a chi, and it's honestly not all that great.
ReplyDeleteyou look great! I love your top!
ReplyDeletehahaaa this reminds me of my hair but it looks good!!
ReplyDeleteYou have gorgeous hair!!!
ReplyDeleteMy hair is ridiculously thick and straight but gets frizzy and it STILL sheds everywhere! I'd love a nice new straightener like that one. Your hair looks great!
ReplyDeleteSuper CUTE! I use the CHI..wonder how it compares to Hana. On another note you have not seen my hair after it's blow dried...talk about frizziness...
ReplyDeleteOh, I have the opposite problem! My hair is SO THICK! And I have SO MUCH OF IT! It takes forever to style, which is why half the time it's either up or frizzy due to not completely blow drying it. It's not too hard to straighten my hair, as long as I dry it completely (which takes FOREVER). But it won't hold curl for anything. I curled it for prom and it was mostly straight by the time we got there and took pictures. I was really nervous to curl it for my wedding, but there was so much product in there, it managed to make it through most the night before it started to look a little flat.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I lose hair ALL THE TIME. It really grosses my husband out. When I sweep the bathroom floor (which has to be like every day) he says the pile of hair looks like a crack head's pony tail. Gross. haha! So it's not just fine hair that falls out!
I wish my hair would curl. . .poor me with too much hair. I bet you could curl your hair gorgeously with that flat iron, too! You're too pretty.
ReplyDeleteGood timing on this post. My straightner has had it and my hair left on its own is a horrible sight!
ReplyDeletei need to get my hands on a ceramic flat iron. I rip my hair out so much with my old one. good to know there's an affordable one out there!
ReplyDeletemy hair is kind of similar. its a mix between wavy and somewhat straight, so I have to fix it either way when it drys:)
ReplyDeletealthough it's funny because my hair is like super duper thick, so i have to get it thinned out like every two months!
well, I love all your hairstyles girl! It always looks movie-star gorgeous:) someday when i get a new straightener i'll have to try the hana!
ah, the prettiness! you are gorgeous, girl!!
ReplyDeleteYou're gorgeous girl! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by our blog! Our "trip" to Italy will be nearly a year long. Quite the adventure...we're excited to keep everyone updated on how the move abroad goes.
ReplyDeleteAnd you have gorgeous hair. And I'm jealous. There, I said it :)
consider yourself stoked...but alas, i am one of thousands. i love your blog. i think you and your husband are great and i can't wait to read more.
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Affordable and ceramic usually don't go together! ;)
ReplyDeleteMy hair is super thin too and I have yet to own a good straightener of any kind. Thanks for the review!!
ReplyDeleteI'm right there with you. My hair is really thin and it's almost impossible to do anything with it. Any type of volumizer that I put in just makes my hair greasy.
ReplyDeleteI am pretty sure we have the SAME HAIR! :)
ReplyDeleteUmm, you are adorable. I don't know if it would be good for my self esteem to keeping visiting you. :)
ReplyDeletewe can be hair friends. I have super thin AND fine hair. it's a curse to this big hair lovin' Texas chick.
ReplyDeleteI have super thin hair too, but it's straight as a pin, no wave. You're lucky!!!
ReplyDeleteLove your blog! xo
CUTE.. I love my straightener but i need a new one :P My hair would probably thank me if i got a new one ;)
ReplyDeleteHow do we have the exact same natural hair? I want that straightener.
ReplyDeleteOh my! If you think your hair is bad when you blow dry it, you should see mine! For real. When i blow dry my hair it is TEN times worse that yours! I only WISH my hair would look like yours after a blow dry! ugh.
ReplyDeleteYou are so darn pretty, ugh!
In our sea of love
Your new straightener looks like it works wonders!!! I have super thick hair and it takes me forever to straighten it! A trick I learned and use all of the time is to put my hair in a bun after I blow dry it so that I can let it rest while I do my make-up. When I take it out of the bun, my hair is much more smoother and lays nicely.
ReplyDeleteI have the opposite situation! Really thick hair that just won't grow! It would be fine if i hadn't cut of my long natural curls! grrr rash decisions! haha
ReplyDeleteYou look beautiful and have a lovely blog! Now following! Hope you will check out mine too!
xoxo

My hair sheds EVERYWHERE but my excuse has always been that it is because it is so thick! Now I don't know what to think.

Your straight hair came out pretty. After I blow dry my hair it is a HOT mess of frizz. I to have to straighten and I use the Chi which I love. I too have similar thin hair to yours and yup..hair everywhere!
ReplyDeleteYou basically just described my hair!
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty dedicated to my CHI only I do think it pulls a lot of hair out. Which is a no-no when our hair is so thin! I'm going to have to look into this iron.
Thanks for sharing!
LOVE your hair!! Adorable!!
ReplyDeleteGirl, your hair doesn't look bad after you blow dry it..it really doesn't. You should see MINE. It's scary. Looks like an afro - no joke. SO GROSS!!
ReplyDeleteAlso - lucky you - not losing any hair while straightening it. I lose it by the clumps. I don't know why. So gross. :(
Your hair looks gorgeous - pre-straightened and post-straightened!

Haha awesome! I too look quite like a Lioness after I blow dry! I just chopped a foot of hair off last winter, so it's not quite so boofy--
ReplyDeletecute post!
Wow, same hair color...annnnd same hair type. I always refer to my natural texture as "80's hair band".
ReplyDeleteI have had and used the Chi iron for years and absolutely recommend it.
Just got a trimmy-trim last night and my stylist recommended I get a new blow dryer, so on the hunt for a good one of those!
