multiple meals.

For the most part, Trevor and I agree on what we eat. We love a lot of the same foods. But some things we are so off on. For example, I hate chocolate chips... he loves them. I love cocoanut, he hates it. So sometimes we find ourselves getting different meals and desserts depending on our moods. I don't advocate having separate meals, but sometimes you just want what you want, and you don't want to have to compromise. (Now don’t get me wrong, Trevor will eat anything I make for him and vice versa!)
But since we are young, and don’t have kids.... if there is a meal we want while we are out at the grocery store... sometimes we will just do separate meals. Obviously this is a habit that will end once we have a bigger family. I am not going to prepare four or five separate meals someday! Haha

Trevor was wanting chocolate chips, something I never make haha, and I was wanting peanut butter cookies. So we just got both! We also couldn't decide on pizza or pasta.... so we just made both :)

What can I say.... my only defense is that our bodies are just storing up for winter?!

(you can kind of see the cow lick that Trevor has to deal with on a daily basis... it goes around the whole side of his head, haha poor guy)
Trevor also might be getting too comfortable eating dinner in the front room while we watch a show. EEKK bad habits I know. We live like college students.... but to be fair we kind of are college students? haha Please tell me we are not the only ones with some bad dinner habits?! haha...

  1. Enjoy eating different meals while watching tv!! Those are the things you're allowed to do when you get married and live on your own!

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I tried to follow yours but I cant figure it out?!!??! Help!

  2. Well, I'd say you have it pretty easy. My husband is one of the pickiest eaters! No potatoes, no beans, and if its a veggie, you can pretty much forget it. He's a bread, cheese, meat kind of person. I know, super healthy. Finding recipes on Pinterest has saved me though. There is always something we can compromise on.

And we always eat in front of the TV. Oh the life of college students....haha.

  3. Too funny! M and I are the same way, except we usually compromise and do one thing one night and the other the next. :) I love chocolate chips though and not such a fan of coconut, so I can relate to Trevor!

  4. haha We totally did that at BYU too. We would make dinner together, and then watch a show at the same time. I wish we could still do that now! And those cookies look delicious! Have you ever had peanut butter kiss cookies? Basically all you do is add a kiss to the top once you take them out of the oven. I love those!

  9. Haha we shop/eat like college kids too - but without little ones running around (yet) sometimes it just makes more sense! And we eat dinner in front of the TV while watching Wheel of Fortune lol.

PS - your new bangs are supercute!

  11. We don't usually make separate meals, but we ALWAYS eat in the living room while watching TV. Yeah, I'll probably want to change that when we have kids. But for now...I don't see it as a problem! :) Enjoy being young and able to live like college students. It doesn't last forever (or so I hear!).

  19. this past weekend both my husband and I ate A LOT of pastas (we went to 3 different events and and they had some version of pasta, pizza or heavy card) so we've been on a salad/chicken diet all week. Makes it easy, right? lol

  20. I had two roommates in college who hated chocolate. I don't get how it's possible!

  21. We eat dinner in front of the tv almost every night haha I'm glad we're not the only ones!! I guess we've gotta live it up before the little ones come eh? ;)

  22. I do all the cooking at home, so some nights I'm just not in the mood to do anything and we end up ordering from a restaurant. And I can't tell you how many times that we end up eating in the living room watching tv!

    ReplyDelete
  23. You two are so cute! Don't worry so much, just go with it. Maybe plan to eat at the table w/o the tv one night a week at least so the tv thing doesn't become a habit.

  24. I am so bad. I have two very picky eaters(my husband and3 year old), so I usually end up making a few things for dinner. And For a while we ate on the couch but now we are eating more at the table as a family. Buy every now and then we still eat on the couch.

  25. Oh, my gosh. That picture of you eating the cookies is just so fabulous. The bangs, the classes, the bun....the cookie...Everything. I think we'd be friends in real life.

  29. This is perfect! Really, where's the rule book that says you have the same meal and eat it at the table?
My Hubby and I also enjoy food in the same way every once in a while.
ps Just like so many other comment above... Girl, you're bangs are hot!! Seriously!

  33. Okay.
    1. Bangs! LOVE THEM!
    2. My husband has the same cowlick issues...
    3. We live like college students, too. But we definitely are not. For the longest time we didn't have a dinner table, so we ate in the living room, in front of the television. We finally got a vintage dining set, and we eat at it... BUT our computer is on it so we still usually watch something on Hulu while we eat. Shame shame...

  34. You're def not that only ones with that bad habit, ha! :) Love the pictures. It all looks so yummy! It's only 9:15am & you're making me hungry!! :)

  37. we all have bad habits. I wish we sat at the dining room table more, instead of on the couch infront of the tv..i better get on that! haha

  38. I've decided it's NOT a bad habit =) cuz we do it and we have two kids. but we don't really have a dining room or space for a table, soooooo it is more excusable, right? it's a fun family time watching reality cooking or designing or singing shows!

  40. Haha we are SO alike! My husband, Ryan, and I usually eat in our living room, watching TV. I said this has GOT to stop before we have kids. But right now, we don't, so the bad habit continues! haha

p.s. Is that a Red Baron singles pizza? We love those!

  43. you're totally not the only ones. My boyfriend and I have completely different tastes. He's open to pretty much anything and I am pretty much (not) open to anything.

So, having different meals is something of the norm for us. Or for instance when we have pizza his half is COVERED in mushrooms and mine is of course not.

No worries .. You are not alone!

    ReplyDelete
  44. haha you're not the only ones. ;)

Sometimes we find ourselves on the couch in front of the tv. It bugs me when it gets to be a more often than not thing, but it would definitely stop once kids came into the picture.

And I'm with you. I'll choose peanut butter cookies over chocolate chip any day of the week. I can eat them but I'm just not a fan of CC cookies.

  51. This happens to me too! So often I want cereal for dinner, but my other half doesn't like cereal. Who doesn't appreciate breakfast for dinner!? Sometimes I like doing seperate meals though, it makes it fun! And everyone can eat some of everything. Ha!
I dont like chocolate chips either.
And lastly, I think you're hair with those glasses are INCREDIBLY GORGEOUS!!! You look great!!!

    ReplyDelete
  52. HA! You are SO not...we are totally in the same boat. We are soo all about the oven pizza and quick pastas this week, while watching a movie (almost every night?..um yes) and to top it off we totally baked cookies last night. We don't discriminate. We are almost...almost ready to stop...almost.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I definitely do separate meals once in a while with my boyfriend, but it seems if you have kids, you definitely need to compromise. =]

  54. hahaha I'm a nutrition major and learn about bad eating habits all day long. BUT i am so guilty of eating in front of the TV. Seriously, it's one of my favorite things to do!

  56. Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment!

It's great you guys compromised so wonderfully with each other on dinner and dessert! My husband has 3 or so cowlicks all about the same place. Needless to say he keeps his hair rather short or when he wakes up his hair is going all sorts of directions!
