Back from the North!

(Here is a collection of some of my all time favorite Canadian goods.)

Well my trip to Canada was UH-mazing! It was a trip that really meant a lot to me for so many reasons. The only thing that could have made it better is if Trevor could have come. The whole trip I kept saying "Trevor would LOVE this!" Or "I wish Trevor could see this." But we will get to the amazing fun adventures of Canada later.... but first things first.
When or if any of you go to Canada... or know someone who is going. Here are some of the top favs to get in terms of the candy and food department. Ready? This is important stuff.

Caramilks
Creamy Carmel filled Cadbury chocolate squares. They melt in your mouth. They are divine.

Wunderbars
Crunchy peanut butter filled (amazing texture) covered in Cadbury chocolate. (seriously, if you love peanut butter you will just about DIE!) BEST chocolate butter on the planet.

Smarties
Canda's version of M&Ms... but TEN TIMES BETTER! (made with Cadbury chocolate, of course. I think Canada, England, and Europe in general have sometime up on us in the states seeing everything is smothered in Cadbury chocolate &not the Nestle wax stuff we call chocolate here.)

EAT-MORE
A dark toffee peanut chew that just hits the spot. A very unique candy, I have never had anything like this in the states.

Aero Bars
Not my all time favorite but some people just love them. they come in some pretty cool different tasting flavors and the best part is all the bubble holes inside them... yes bubble holes. We are just really creative in Canada :) We like to have "fun" food.

Old Dutch Chips
Pretty much anything Old Dutch is amazing. Old Dutch chips are like potato chips in the states but come in some amazing flavors. Dill pickle, Ketchup, All Dressed, Crispy Bacon are just some of the many amazing flavors!

CHEEZIES
Imagine cheetos but ten times more CHEESE!!!!

Popcorn Twists (Old Dutch Brand)
UH-MAZING! Imagine pirate booty texture mixed with popcorn/butter taste. This stuff is my favorite, but beware they feel light and you can just eat bags of it before it hits you that you were full 20 minutes ago.

Macintosh Carmel
The best (not hard when you bite into it) chewy camels. Enough said.

If you could only pick just ONE go for the Wunderbar... probably the best chocolate bar every created on the planet.

P.S. Don't think I have forgotten about my surprise! It is coming soon :)

  1. Hey Alycia! Great post!!! I'm still in Canada on my holiday and I'm eating tons of junk food and others that I can't get in Italy. Right now it's slurpees, burgers and Asian food are something I'm eating a lot of.

    And I love Wunderbars!!!!

  9. Wunderbar is by far the best chocolate bar in the world. I love it. I was dumb and only brought one with me to Utah but in a few weeks some more chocolate should be arriving in the mail. Have you tasted the difference between canadian and american kitkat bars? There is a BIG difference. Thats when people truly get converted to Canadian chocolate.

Smarties though- have to disagree with you there. Canada's are too waxy. I'm all for the m&ms

  10. I had a friend over the other night and she was like "You have England candies?" She was pointing to a box of Smarties that Kira gave me awhile ago. I told her they came from Canada, she thought she had died and gone to heaven, she missed having her home town candies....I still like m&m's better, but I think that's just because I'm used to that taste of chocolate. I also love the Aero bars.
