18 Weeks Pregnancy Update

TOP C/O Pink Blush Maternity // PANTS // SHOES (similar) //  BRACELETS // PURSE (almost exact)

How far along: I am 18 weeks and 3 days
How big is baby: The size of a Sweet Potato!
Weight Gain: 10 pounds

Maternity clothes: Can we just start skipping this question because the answer from here on out will be YES! haha But while we are on the topic, I will be showcasing some fun items from Pink Blush Maternity on my blog over the next little bit! I did a post recently about them here.

Stretch marks: No new ones. Over the last few weeks I have really seen my stomach grow and change. At my last appointment my doctor told me that my uterus has completely moved up to my belly button, which is why I am popping out so much there! I know that stretch marks are genetic but I also want to help my skin cope with these changes as much as possible. So far I have just been using the moisturizer I typically use on my face on my stomach and chest, this stuff is awesome and is meant for the whole body anyways. I have raved about it before on my blog and youtube! Then I mentioned last week how I have been loving the Soap & Glory's Pulp Friction, a foamy fruity body scrub. Last week I decided to order some of this oil that I saw a few people going on and on about, I figured it couldn't hurt to try it out as I will be doubling in size over the next half of this pregnancy! It is the Mother's Special Blend All Natural Skin Toning Oil. It has almost 4 1/2 stars from 186 customer reviews on Amazon so that was enough for me to just get it. Let me tell you... it is AMAZING, and I have only used it for a few days. I wish I had this stuff from the get go! I will do a more in-depth review on my YouTube I think!

Sleep: At my last appointment my doctor recommended I try a diffuser at night to help with my Rhinitis. We have one, I just need to pull it out, but hopefully it helps!

Craving: I had the most random urge for one of my favorite dishes my mom started making us when I was in high school, I will have to share the recipe because it is so easy and yummy. But it just hit me that I NEEDED to have it NOW, so right after work I hit the grocery store so I could have some. I ate left overs the rest of the week and was in heaven.

Feeling: I am still on a cloud nine after my doctors appointment last week! When the doctor was looking for the heart beat there were all these swooshing sounds being picked up, she told me that was the baby moving around! It just made me so dang happy, I don't even know why something like that would bring me so much happiness but it just did. Knowing my baby is in there moving around, growing, just brings me so much comfort. I can't wait for the big ultra sound in a few weeks!

Random: As I mentioned above, my doctor told me my uterus has moved up to my belly button, which has made me kind of "pop" out right there. At least I am not delusional because I was thinking my stomach had changed shaped recently. I have always had a really deep belly button and I can already tell it is not even half as deep as it used to be... I think I might get an outie! ahhh I don't know why but outie belly buttons have always weirded me out (sorry for all you outies out there!) haha It is just one of those random things. Oh well, looks like I am bound to get one!

  2. Congrats!
I get really stuffy at night while pregnant, and I found that Breathe Right nasal strips were miracle workers. I wore them every other night (because the adhesive can be rough on skin when used daily) so I could breathe.

  3. my mom recommended putting a bandaid on my belly button because it grossed me out. And it sticks out so far the further along you get. Then it goes back in after baby comes out!

  6. I used to have a really deep belly button too, but with baby number 1 it just stretched out. Never became an outie, just totally disappeared. And then it was never the same again. Lol. I'm 21 weeks my fourth and my belly button is already gone. Haha!

  7. I have a very deep belly button and mine never popped...it just got shallower and stretched thinner. Eventually it was basically closed into just a flat line..but no pop! I was glad b/c outies weird me out too. ;) You look fabulous! So happy you are enjoying your pregnancy! :)

  11. Pregnancy is so different for everyone, and even every pregnancy that you have yourself. I'm on #3 and this has been a different experience than the other 2. As for preventing stretch marks, I didn't notice any with my first until after I had her. Very strange, but typical. They stay purple, at least mine did, for awhile, but now they are the color of my skin but kind of shiny. I was so concerned with getting stretch marks with my first, and now I've realized that it just comes with the territory of growing a HUMAN! Your body is going to be changing so much until the end, and you just need to remember the miracle you are creating. Pregnancy is amazing!

  12. Am I the only one who finds the fact that we compare the size of growing fetuses to the size of different foods? Like I feel as a potential future preggo lady I would read that le petit bebe was the size of an avocado and just go "OMG I WANT GUAC NOW." Just me? Haha.

  13. I love the pregnancy updates! When I was pregnant with Caleb my belly button stayed an innie but with Levi it flattened out. And now two months on, it's just looking pretty weird, ha!
