17 Weeks Pregnancy Update

DRESS (ON SALE!) // BRACELETS // PURSE (Similar: Same leather, color, & lining)

How far along: I am 17 weeks and 2 days

How big is baby: The size of an Onion!

Weight Gain: Still at 8 pounds.

Maternity clothes: In both regular and maternity right now, lots of stretchy pants!

Stretch marks: Same as last week! I did start using a new body scrub that I have been LOVING. Soap & Glory's Pulp Friction a foamy fruity body scrub that is so fine that I can really scrub down without irritating my skin. I have never had such smooth skin, and the smell is amazing too!

Sleep: It is hit or miss but it seems to be getting better actually. Any advice out there for this Pregnancy Rhinitis stuff, it lasts all night and all morning?!

Craving: Bagels and cream cheese! This past week I had such a craving for bagels I went to the store and bought several different kinds of bagels and cream cheese. I am stocked well enough I could probably open a bagel shop in my kitchen :) haha

Feeling: The baby! Last week I felt the baby for the first time. March 10th I was sitting at my desk at work and it literally made me jump in my seat. It happened a few times and since then I have been able to notice little things, nothing as distinct as the first two but still, pretty dang cool! Can't wait until I feel the baby move on a regular basis! Excited for my doctors appointment this week :)

Random: I had my first irrational, emotional pregnant moment. Last week Trevor picked up dinner and got my order wrong and I was on the verge of tears because of it! HAHA #poortrevor I shared this on my Facebook and got a kick out of all the responses. Apparently I am not alone in overreacting to things! Everyone's stories were awesome! haha

  3. During the third trimester I sobbed once when we went through a drive thru and I didn't get what I ordered at all. I still feel justified. The last trimester was my hardest. I always had heartburn and was nauseous so if something sounded yummy we would get it. But not rational....haha

    1. Oh man I have only had heart burn a few times so far, but I hate it because I honestly have only experienced like maybe once in my whole life and I can already tell it is going to become a new thing I deal with a lot more! haha

  4. About halfway through my pregnancy I got a burrito from taco bell and asked for it without sour cream however, sour cream was indeed added to my burrito and I lost it. I had a total come apart. I still hate taco bell for that reason.

  6. Haha! My first pregnancy I was SO emotional. This one I haven't cried nearly as much. My husband said he's noticed a difference this time around too! Poor daddies. I'm sure it's a way to prepare them for the unnecessary crying of babies at times. You look beautiful!

  7. Pregnancy rhinitis is a real problem!! I'm two weeks behind you, and I have it too. It literally will not stop in the evenings and mornings. The only solution I've found is Saline Spray and nasal strips. On really bad nights I use a humidifier. Just shoot saline spray up your nose before you go to bed, blow really well, put on a nasal strip, and in the morning repeat except without the nasal strip! I've been getting great nights sleep. It doesn't stop the annoyance of it all though ;)

And also, bagels and cream cheese. Me too!!!

    1. I have heard of the nose strips but doesn't that get expensive using them every night for the next like 5 months? haha I am seeing my doctor this week and am going to ask her too. Maybe I just suck it up and buy them for some sanity!

    2. They aren't too expensive! I only have had to buy two packs so far. They have enough for a month in them, and it feels worth it to me!

    3. Oh good to know then! I will have to check them out :) Thanks for the tip!

  8. Pregnancy emotions are so crazy! I remember sitting on the kitchen floor in tears because I'd emptied the vacuum cleaner and couldn't put it back together properly! Those pesky hormones! You're looking radiant x

  9. That is an awesome story, you should just let the emotions flow. You feel stupid, but it's better to just get 'em out. I feel like most women cry over food when they are pregnant. I cried because he didn't want to get me Arby's!!! hahe, we were still newlyweds and he didn't quite know how to react. Needless to say, I now always get the food of my choice.

  11. Haha when I was pregnant my husband got us a pizza from Malawi's pizza in Provo, and he put almonds on the pizza, and I sobbed, it's a big joke between the two of us now to not put nuts on my food.

  12. Hahaha, i overreact about things like that sometimes too and i'm not even pregnant, so don't feel bad! xoxo
