CANADA DAY...

Canada Day was such a treat because we were able to drive down to where our family lived before we moved to San Diego. The Village of Rosemary. Yes, my family comes from a village. We were able to go back in 2010 and it was fun to come again so soon.

The whole village was on main street (what seems like the only street, ha!) for the big parade! The kids were going crazy over the candy, and we even got to take a picture with the Canadian Mounties that came!

This sweet couple babysat me when my parents went off to Paris for a work trip. Apparently they fell in love with me and didn't want to give me back when my parents came home.

LOVE MY BROTHER BEN!

Three of the four Leavitt children that were born at the Brooks Hospital. (we missed you Brandon!)

We spent the afternoon running into old family friends, and looking at all the places that have a special meaning to our family. Our old house, the old fire station where my Dad volunteered. We walked around and everyone shared stories. Mostly my parents telling us funny, sweet, and sentimental stories about our time there.

After the festivities in Rosemary, we headed out to Brooks. Brooks is the nearest biggest city where my parents had to do all of their shopping etc. It is also where four of us Leavitt kids were born. I still can't believe how far they had to drive just to go to the hospital... it is a miracle none of us were born in the middle of nowhere on the way there!

I had been to the hospital before but it was just for a quick picture. This time we decided to go inside. It was pretty cool walking into such a tiny little hospital that looked more like an elementary school and thinking about how I was born in that building.

We ended the night with dinner, more hot tubing and lake jumping! We basically ended every night like this. It was heaven.

  8. Its funny because even though I grew up in SoAB I'd never really heard of Rosemary till this year. And my cousins went and spent Canada in Rosemary. Small World.
