I have had the opportunity to travel to several different places, and I still feel like San Diego is one of the best places out there. Call me biased, but I am just in love with that city. One of the days while we were down for Christmas, we met up with some of Trevor's friends who happened to be in town as well.
We tried to plan a fun afternoon for them to enjoy some of the many fun things you can do while in San Diego. They wanted to go to an aquarium so I suggested we hit the Birch Aquarium that is close to La Jolla. It was fun to see all the different type of beautiful sea creatures that exist in the world. Amazing. If you have the time though, you should really go to Sea World! Going to Sea World was the high light of our vacation, and probably my childhood, haha!
Afterwards we took them to see the Seals. If you are down in San Diego, you just HAVE to go to see the Children's beach that was taken over by the seals. Seeing the seals is one of my favorite things to do while back at home. They got a kick out of it, and who wouldn't love seeing some wild life that close?
After the seals we got onto a ferry that takes you from downtown San Diego to Coronado Island. Coronado Island is where I would live if I could live anywhere in the entire world.... *swoooon* We had some lunch and then rented bikes and rode them around the island. IT WAS SUCH A BLAST! I forgot how much I love riding a bike, and beach cruisers are the best kind :)

We rode our bikes all the way to the famous Hotel Del, and enjoyed the beach and Christmas decorations at the hotel for a bit. Did you know you can ice skate on the beach at the Hotel Del? haha Pretty cool. All in all it was a great day! I love me some San Diego :)
I couldn't agree with you more! I am perhaps a little biased since we live in San Diego ;-) but I couldn't imagine a better place on earth. Loved reading this post! Gorgeous pics :-)
ReplyDeleteThose jellyfish are too rad! Jealous of these beautiful pics, hope you're having a blast :)

My aunt lives in San Diego, and yes, I love that city as well. Life out there is just so different than what I'm used to from my "Small Town, MS" lifestyle. And I completely agree...SeaWorld rocked my 6 year old self's socks off.
ReplyDeleteYou did all of my favorite things to do in SD! Aquarium, Coronado, seals - the only thing missing is mexican in old town!

ReplyDeleteOk. I seriously need your help. My husband and I live in Santa Barbara and I am trying to convince him to move to San Diego. It's warmer, I've heard it has younger couples our age (we're 24 & 25) and I've even heard there is a strong community of LDS families down there.
ReplyDeleteBut his mind block is that we don't know anything about the city and it's just far enough away it's hard and inconvenient planning trips down there.
PLEASE tell me the best places to live if you have no children YET, active LDS, in your mid 20's, LOVES the beach...that's very important. And wants a big and small town feel...if that's even possible.
Help a girl out...not that SB isn't GORGEOUS. I just...am ready to move away from all the retired people. Haha.
THANK YOU!!!!
p.s. my email is yammyg@gmail.com Seriously...gracias.
p.s. my name is Glenna :) and my blog is:

ReplyDeleteSan Diego is one of my favorite places too! We actually stayed in La Jolla on our honeymoon, and went to Birch aquarium, and that same beach I think! We might go back for our 2nd anniversary....I'm hoping so :)
ReplyDeleteSan Diego is BY FAR one of my most favorite places that I have traveled to. I would go back in a heartbeat!!!! Glad you had a great time..wonderful photos!
ReplyDeleteSan Diego is very hard to beat. I loved it when I visited the first time when I was about 10 yrs. old. I loved it more than Disneyland. Who would have thought many, many years later, a husband & 5 kids I would move here with my family and then even have a baby here!! I keep praying we can retire here. I don't want to leave.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you've had a great day! Never been to San Diego myself, but maybe someday!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog. I appreciate your nice comment. And I'm really liking what I'm seeing on your blog! Can't wait to read more!
