rub a dub dub...

One thing I have always loved ever since I was little is taking a bath.
I love being all alone, relaxing in the warmth and scents of a bubble filled bath.
In fact now that I think about it, the bathroom is probably one of my favorite places.
Which brings me to this post.
Me and Trevor are poor newlyweds.
We have a cheap apartment really close to campus where I go to school and work.
Usually cheap and close to the University is a rare thing, so we know how lucky we are. For this I am truly grateful.
Now that I have said how lucky I know we are to have this apartment, I am going to tell you that I live in a dungeon. We call it the "dungeon" because we live in the basement of a house.
A house that is over 100 years old by the way...
Anyways, the worst part about our bathroom is that it is literally big enough for ONE person to stand in.
When you sit on the toilet, your knees hit it the wall.
One day I was at a friends house and went to the bathroom. I realized I was sitting on the toilet sideways when I didn't need to be. I have actually developed a habit of sitting on the toilet sideways.
lovely.
Now onto the whole point. This bathroom only has a shower.
NO bathtub.
I miss my baths. That wonderful relaxing alone time I would have in the tub.
I wouldn't get out until I was nice and wrinkly all over :) That is when you know you are done.
Me and Trevor love to talk about "when we get out of this apartment..."
The "...." is a bunch of different things we would like to have in our next place.
But for now I want to say that one of my dreams is to have a beautiful claw foot bathtub :)
I think that a claw foot bath tub is the epitome of bath tubs!
Someday, Someday I will light a million candles, fill my claw foot bath tub up with a bunch of bubbles
and disappear....

  2. I am DYING for this bathroom right now! See... it's pictures like this that just make me want to stop school right now and just decorate my house! And don't feel like a lame-o about the school thing. That's kinda what we're having to do too! Tys will move out to DC in April and I'll follow in July after I've graduated. SO LAME. But I guess you do what you've gotta do.

  4. ahhh i share the same dream!! i've spent 5 years with stall showers being in college, and i cannot wait to NOT have to bump elbows with the wall, shave my legs at an awkward angle, and drop everything on the floor!(TMI? sorry..)

  5. You even loved baths when you were little! Your sitting on the toilet at your friends comment made me laugh. I've sat on your toilet and it is awkward to sit sideways!! :)

  6. Nah I want a spa bath tub. One where I could lay down or at least recline without my feet/knees out of the water. One with jets would be so divine.

  9. Oh my gosh! I know exactly how you feel! Our ghetto house has a cave bathroom. . . it's quite frightening, but I really miss bubble baths!!! You're so cute!

  10. We have a bathtub where we live, but its nothing to write home about. The water only comes up to the middle of my chest if I'm laying down. And with both of my pregnancies it didn't even come close to covering my belly. It would stick out of the water like an island.

  11. ahhhh my dream bathroom there at the end. We also live in an apartment it is rather nice for on campus and it does have a bath tub... but come on... who wants to take a bath in a tub that even if you fill it all the way up your thighs are barely covered?!?! hahaha!

Love your blog! I'm adding it to my sidebar! ;-)

I was never really much of a bath person myself, but I can definitely appreciate a good claw foot bath tub all the same. Once you two get your incredible dream house, you can have the most amazing bathroom and bathtub ever. :)

  35. What a cute post, a claw foot tub sounds just lovely! It's funny, but when you move all those little annoyances will probably be the things you miss the most when you look back. At least it was like that when I moved. But maybe not :p

  43. I just randomly came across you blog and saw your post about taking a bath - hilarious, first of all. secondly, i posted a post (?) last week about taking baths and used that same image! isn't that bathroom the epitome of awesomeness. ohh, love it!

  44. I completely understand sitting sideways on the toilet! Our bathroom sounds about as small as yours. The rest of our place is nice and roomy, but the bathroom is SO small!

    Love that tub!!

  48. When you get your claw foot tub, make sure you get a separate shower. We had a cast iron pedestal tub in our 100+ years old house and taking a shower in it was awful. Unless you enjoy being attacked by shower curtains (I don't)!

  49. I adore your claw foot bath tub! One day, maybe one day, I will have one! So lovely!
